The Supreme Court of India has issued a public advisory warning citizens, litigants and advocates against a fraudulent website impersonating its official online portal. In a notice dated November 3, 2026, the Supreme Court Registry identified the domain scigovinjudicial.com as a deceptive website that may be used by cybercriminals to obtain sensitive personal information and confidential credentials through phishing.
The Registry cautioned users against sharing personal, financial or confidential information through the fraudulent domain, warning that such disclosures could expose individuals to data theft and unauthorised access to their accounts.
Supreme Court Clarifies Its Official Website
The Supreme Court clarified that its official website operates through the domain https://www.sci.gov.in/. It urged users to remain vigilant while accessing websites or electronic communications claiming to represent the Court.
The advisory specifically recommended verifying website addresses before clicking on hyperlinks. Users should carefully inspect the destination URL, including by hovering over links, to ensure that they are accessing the authentic judicial portal.
Warning Against Phishing and Data Theft
The Registry highlighted the possibility that the fraudulent website could be used to solicit sensitive personal information, banking details and confidential login credentials. Such information, if disclosed, could be exploited for financial fraud, identity theft or unauthorised access to online accounts.
Users have therefore been strongly advised not to enter passwords, banking information or other confidential details on suspicious websites claiming to offer Supreme Court-related services.
