CJI Surya Kant Calls on Young Lawyers to Shape India's Legal Future
Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant has called upon young lawyers and recent law graduates to prepare themselves for the responsibility of shaping India's legal future, emphasizing that the next generation of legal professionals will inherit the duty of safeguarding the country's constitutional and democratic institutions.
Addressing members of the legal fraternity during an Independence Day function organized by the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), the CJI reflected on India's progress since Independence while acknowledging that significant challenges remain. He noted that the legal profession continues to play a vital role in preserving the rule of law and ensuring access to justice for all citizens.
Justice Surya Kant highlighted that the legal challenges of the future will be more complex, requiring lawyers to combine legal expertise with adaptability, ethical responsibility, and a commitment to public service. He stressed that the institutions of justice built over generations must be protected and strengthened by today's young advocates.
