KLE Law College, Bengaluru has announced a Call for Papers for the First International Conference on the Future of Justice: Crime, Constitution, and Technology (KLE-JUSTECH 2027), inviting academics, legal practitioners, judges, policymakers, technologists, researchers, and doctoral scholars to contribute original research on the legal implications of emerging technologies.
Scheduled to be held on January 22–23, 2027 in a hybrid format, the conference seeks to examine how artificial intelligence, surveillance technologies, facial recognition systems, predictive policing, digital forensics, algorithmic decision-making, and deepfakes are transforming criminal justice systems and constitutional governance.
The conference theme, “Justice in the Age of Algorithms: Safeguarding Constitutional Guarantees in a Technologically Transformed Criminal Justice System,” aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue on balancing technological innovation with constitutional protections such as privacy, due process, equality, and freedom of expression.
KLE-JUSTECH 2027 will feature eight thematic tracks covering policing and surveillance, constitutional privacy, digital evidence, AI-assisted adjudication, cybercrime, constitutional rights in digital spaces, judicial capacity, and data protection frameworks.
The organizers have fixed September 30, 2026, as the deadline for abstract submissions. Selected papers will be considered for publication in conference proceedings through Atlantis Press, part of Springer Nature, and may be submitted for indexing in Scopus and Web of Science, subject to peer review and publisher approval.
The conference reflects the growing global focus on the regulation of emerging technologies and their impact on justice systems. As governments and courts increasingly confront questions involving AI governance, digital rights, algorithmic accountability, and cybercrime, the event is expected to provide an important platform for legal scholarship and policy discussions.
